Don't kick yourself for losing a ewe. It happens. C section deliveries don't always turn out positive. AS A MATTER OF FACT UNLESS THE C SECTION IS PLANNED THERE IS LITTLE YOU CAN DO AND have little chance of saving the lambs. Sandi you do great helping the mommas deliver and im sure have saved many ewes and young by being there when they deliver. You do good, really good at lambing time and all otheer times too.
I just came across u last night and stayed up til 4am on a work night watching. U are AMAZING! Thanks for sharing!
I think you are wonderful With your sheep x
I love how the sheep are so curious. Many watch whatever you are doing, even from the next pen....love it.
I think your awesome and you work hard too and have a good heart!!!
That doesn’t look like Billy 😂😂😂😂
She looks like a diamond
Very Well Done, Marc & Paulette in Michigan
💯💋💖💗💓💞💌💌❣️💟💝💘♥️🖤💜💙💚💚💚💛💛💛
Oh that was so sweet 🥰 thank you for sharing it with us!❤️
There is no failure. Just lessons.
You are awesome. Keep going honey x
Ruby sure took advantage of you feeding her baby girl and when this adorable little lamb was working her way up in your knee yo give her a proper clean up 😂♥️🤣
Remember you can't please everyone some of the time ... just do your best all of the time ... you do a wonderful job at what you do ... remember to stay safe and stay blessed
Ruby had a little lamb its fleece was white as snow and everywhere that Ruby went the lamb was sure to go! That's the first thing I thought of when I saw how white the little lamb was! I hope you keep her she's adorable
Will you keep rubies baby I think you said you weren't keeping any of these Lambs
You are doing an amazing job you show so much love to the ewes and the lambs sometimes things like that happen and we can't help it its nature. Keep going keep smiling keep youre head high 🐑🐏
Light switch? What a bright idea!! lol. Nicely done Mark
Don’t let those kind of people get to you. We know you try everything in your power to keep your ewe’s safe, and sometimes crazy freak things happen and there’s just nothing you can do. From what I’ve seen in your videos you clearly love your animals and I don’t think anyone can deny that. ❤️ We love you and your sheep 🐑 🐏!
The downside is that so much learning is done on the fly. Last year is the first time I had my goat kid. It went very well. This year I had two does go down with preg tox at the same time. Got the vet but still lost one doe and her babies within 24 hours. Second doe had triplets. I ended up pulling last two. First one came butt first. But it was like four hours before baby number two and her head was kind of stuck. Pulled it. Thought I was breaking its poor little neck. Its legs were not coming with its head. Just went ahead and pulled baby number three because she was so weak. Had the vet out for emergency call. I have no clue. Babies survived but I wasn't sure mom would. She did not want to get up. Took the babies out the next day and she heard them. She walked in little bursts. I tied an old sheet around her to try to help her but she just about pulled me over. She is back to her old self now. Babies stay with the mom now but I am bottle feeding. One more doe to go. I had four does. Lost one. A set of triplets and a single. Now it is a waiting game. It is easy to be a sofa quarterback but until you are actually in the game you have no idea. And no matter how much you think that you are prepared something always seems to come up that you have never dealt with.
Put together an emergency kit station about half was down the barn 💕💕💕💕💕💕
Tell me more about the Deere-Johnny Popper?
Sorry for my ignorance, just came across this channel. What happens to all the lambs
You aren’t the only one, I was asking the same thing and then erased it. Ha
Please don't fastvforward the video , it was creepy like the paranormal movies when the demon woman would be creeping along the basement floor to grab the unsuspecting woman
So glad the stats gave you confirmation of how well you are really doing. Well done you and the team.💚💛💜
Stuff the haters , I used to work a 10 thousand acre farm, we only checked our sheep twice a day and rairly had to intervene and they were born in paddocks and then just part of the group However with over 30,000 thousand sheep we had losses of ewes lambs from all the same you do. It’s life it happens you are doing amazing and I wish our sheep had multiples like you. Keep smiling your doing great, your sheep are blessed beyond belief lolol almost precious they live inside
You are awesome sheep farmer! Cheers !!!👍
I have to agree it’s a lot quieter!
You are doing a fantastic job. Quit letting ppl get you down! You awesome Sandi!!
Don’t doubt yourself. You do brilliantly. You couldn’t have saved your ewe neither could anyone else. I love your videos I feel I know you and I’m very impressed with what you do and the love you show your ewes and lambs xx
I used to have a very small flock when I was young. I love watching your videos. If I could only smell your barn... I think heaven will probly smell like lanolin. I had Suffolk, Hampshires and Hamp-X. An unforgettable journey of learning. Failures and I had success too. That's why I love your videos. This is real. We know you want what is best for your flock of sheep. You absorb everything you can everyday to ensure the next day is better. I would definitely choose you to be on my team regardless the task. God Bless you.
Ruby’s baby is so pretty.
You do an amazing job dont let any one tell you your not. Thoses people who think they know it all and think they can do better dont listen to them. We all have bad days and good ones. It's nice to see what u do
You question yourself too much - lord knows you love those sheep
I’m gonna say shit happens. You are a farmer basically. People who live in the rural areas should understand city people are sometimes dorks.
Just found you and luv!!! Your channel. Dismiss the haters. They are back seat drivers. You can see how much you luv what you do and luv those fur babies. Keep on going!!!♥️🌈🙏
I raised sheep & goats for 27 years. You do the best you can. 🥰
Sandi, what do you do,with all the sheep?
You are amazing. Don’t let the negativity get you down.
You should call rubys baby Pearl keeping with presious gems and she is so cute white
I’m extremely new to your channel and I think Your Awesome...don’t take on board the haters it’s not worth your health...just keep going and keep teaching and sharing your journey...love it.
OMGoodness did you say grandma was Ruthie?? My teenagers 2 grandmothers were name Ruby and Ruth. I thought about naming her Ruby Ruth but chose not to. Gave her her name and now she wants to change it to Yep Ruby Ruth!!!
Babygirl this is my 5th video and you need not apologize or fill in for those who do not walk in your shoes. So you are so awesome and humane to all these precious babies and dearest heaven you are truly awesome and I adore you, God Bless and forgive me Lord but up theirs and the uncalled for comments. You got this!! Marilyn from Tennessee!! Lol when you said that doesn't look like Billy, Ruby said "HUSH"!
I think she looks like a Remi?
Please Be Kind.. for no reason.. and every reason.. Love each Day
I disagree with you getting a surgical knife. The emergency c section looks exciting and valiant to outsiders but really it isn't. (I think this is from too many doctor/cop shows on TV making this seem like it's a good idea). The heartfelt desire to save every lamb possible is a decision your heart wants to make, not a valid husbandry decision. And the chances that you would make a mistake, be too late, or the lamb is not ready to be born would only cause you more distress and not result in the lamb surviving. We all know how much you love and do all you can reasonably do to ensure your sheep and lambs are well treated. This is not a rescue technique but a serious surgical procedure. Talk to your vet. I am sure he will try to talk you out of this too. Really how often does this happen? Once every 4 to 5 lambing cycles? You're not a trained, experienced vet. You know a lot about sheep but have you spent years studying anatomy and practicing this very complicated procedure? Without either of those your chances of success are less than .5%. It's a noble idea but really it's not viable or useful.
Good job keep it up 😍
Beautiful lamb. Loved the one on it's mommy's back.
Just started watching your videos today, and they are wonderful. Really shows what goes into this job: blood, sweat, and tears. Don't even think about the negative, keep your head up 😊 I look forward to more videos, but don't forget to take care of you 🤗. I wish you the very best.
Ignore them Sandi you are doing everything you can ignore ignore people complain you know the Job better than us you doing very good BE PROUD of YOURSELF BIG time xxxxx❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ruby’s baby is beautiful!
Sandi, Pat Crane's comments below are awesome, and so are you (you just don't know it). Many of us are critical thinkers, and many of us are tactless in our comments. Please ignore those of us who are ignorant, tactless, critical typists. We/ They would never say those things to your face... they would know they were wrong. I know it is hard to share what you have learned without criticizing yourself; you are a humble human. But some bullies think that makes you a easy target. Those bullies don't see the whole picture as Pat states below. They just like to put you down so they can feel superior. Yet, I bet not one of them runs a successful farm like you do.
That little one on top of that mom! And all the others coming over? She's the Kool-Aide mom!
Don't beat yourself up. To this city girl, you look like Wonder Woman. I am in awe at the magnitude of tasks you are juggling, the enthusiasm you sustain while doing this, and the sheer scope of knowledge you have. I cannot imagine keeping so many animals alive. They are truly labor intensive.
You are such a sweetheart, I wish people would leave you alone. The love you have for those animals and it shows. God bless you
I say your wonderful person that is very talented. God bless you
What you do for a living can't be easy but I think you are doing a dam good job you keep it up girl
Oh Sandi. You are so humble and filled with self doubt. You will lose animals sometimes. It happens, no matter how skilled you are. You can’t help it. I wish you could see yourself through our eyes. You’re amazing! You are dedicated! You are hardworking! You have saved the lives of countless sheep! Please, don’t be so hard on yourself!
Found your channel by accident, but have to tell you as a labor/delivery nurse for years I love your enthusiasm and heart you put into your ewes and lambs!❤
That is why you are the brave one. You put yourself out there so that we can learn.
You should name Rudy's baby, Pearl.😍 Just a thought.
Ugh, hearing that you get negative comments just irks me. 1) as a farmer, you can’t save them all. 2) the people who complain you didn’t do anything, are probably also the people that tell you, you help the other ewes too much. Simple rules, if you can say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. I honestly appreciate every single video. Every single piece of info you share, even if I’ve heard it times before in other videos. And I appreciate the fact you share so much of your life with us. ❤️ keep on trucking, cause you’re fantastic!
Rubysunday Is so adorable baby. Great videos
Look don't sweat it it happens and people have to know that it happens it's not a perfect world and I think you handled it pretty good
I was reading Pat Crane's comments below and I was also a nurse for many years and I think that you are VERY GOOD with your ewes and I love watching you. But you need to remember something that I was told years ago then I got out of nursing school; YOU ARE NOT GOD. Do the best you can and go on. Yes we will always second guess ourselves no matter what, but most of the time what you do was right the first time. The Bible says that for everything there is a season, and everything a time. The ewes time was at hand. GOD Bless you for the wonderful things that you do for your ewes and their babies. You are a wonderful nurse and doctor in one. Keep up the good work.
Ruby’s baby is soooo adorable 🥰
Hey mabey you can make a emergency cart with all the stuff you will need in a situation like that ok ps ( may the lambs be with you
I raised dairy goats. The sad stories are the same. When you’re exhausted during kidding (lambing) you do the very best you can and that doesn’t involve major surgery without the vet. Even with the vet, we suffered trauma and loss. It, unfortunately goes with farming. Still not easy to take. Compassion and love to you. You run a great, humane operation.
Baby fell out. Ur suppose to stay in. Love how they communicate with u and u talk right back.
I happen to see that poor sheep die but she went fast and less we forget we all meet that destination some day. You do such a good job and you're so invested in loving those lambs, keep up the good work😌😌😌
Beautiful baby☺☺☺☺
Ignore their comments!! I'm was so sad for you, and then to hear your getting comments make me upset. I such animal lover, I loose it for days when some of my cats died, and later their kittens. Your so strong!! Again listen to everyone and just keep on lambing. Just found you this am, and trying to catch up, I'm proud up you, team, doggies, and especially your lamb families. Give yourself those mental health breaks when needed. Thanks for your videos!!!
I'm a goat farmer. Losing animals is sadly a part of having animals and not being a vet. We all do our best with what we can and that's all we can do. You are giving me ideas on how I can be a better farmer.
Even vets lose animals sometimes. They’re only human.
You are simply amazing. I admire your strength, love and compassion. These sheep are not just a livelihood for you this is your passion. I’m new to sheep ranching and oh my goodness I had no idea all that is involved. I have decided that the ranchers and farmers should be receiving the pay that athletes are receiving. Your jobs are so much more worthy than a bunch of football. Soccer, basketball, etc. players. I can’t see an athlete making it through a day what our ranchers and farmers do on a daily basis. God bless our farmers and ranchers!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm sure you are doing the best that you can. Most things in life are learning experiences. It's easy to be critical. But believe in yourself.
Ruby said she would have a girl, all the lambs are soo cute, we all know how much you love and care for lambs and ewes, don't beat yourself up about it, don't let those negative people get to you
Why do you have to apologize? It was not meant that she lives there was something definitely wrong. Don't these people understand that's God's way of telling you that it was not meant to be.
Are those real birds that I hear in the background or you raising baby chicks as well?
U are blessing to these babies
They purr! I never knew that sheep purred!!
My favorite part of having goats and sheep is when they lamb or kid the lambs and kids always look up at you and blink because they are just so new. Also sandi I’m sorry your getting shade from people but trust me it just makes you into a stronger person love you. ❤️
It is so sweet to see the relationship with you and ruby
What a beautiful precious lamb. So pure white. Reminds me of our Lord Jssus, the pure spotless lamb of the world!
Not you stealing her baby lol
I have found an amazing possible new interest. I never thought this might be anything I would enjoy watching and learning about. The whole thing surprises me but we will see if I can handle watching when there is so much blood involved. I am a town girl here I hope that I don't say the super wrong thing.
You are only one person, you try to do it all but you are human.. Don’t worry about the Haters , they are brave on their keyboards but not in person!
I just started watching u and I think ur doing a great job ☺️
THOSE. BABY LAMB'S ARE SO ADORABLE,
Call Ruby's lamb Ruby 2.
I can honestly say that I don’t know absolutely anything about how lambing works, deliveries, or even how to raise and care for sheep. In the last vlog by the time you got to the casted ewe she seemed like she wasn’t going to survive, even if she did get the care she needed. As well as the fact she wasn’t in labor, I personally don’t think a c-section would’ve saved the lambs she had. You know your animals best, and what is best for them. I’m sorry about the ewe you lost, dont let the people who know nothing about your animals tell you how to care for them.
Animal raising of any kind is tough. We raise beef cattle, but spring calves notoriously come during a blizzard, or some such. Or they need help in the dead of night or always something. Losing an animal always hurts. You feel like you should have been able to do more, but all you can do is the best you can at the time you are there with the tools you have.
People who havent lived on a farm don’t realize sometimes animals just aren’t going to make it and you can’t do anything about it life has it’s own plan guys nature can’t be controlled as much as we think it can.
Ruby's lamb is gorgeous and sweet!! Brought tears to my eyes seeing the innocence and beauty of a newborn!! You are a phenomenal shepherd!!! Thank you for your service!!
It’s like that baby sheep is saying ma ma
I agree. Vet should be doing c-sections. Don't be so hard on yourself. People are judgemental without knowing everything
I think maybe the rudest comments tend to come from the one's who have never done anything like this. You're so kind and sweet. Don't let anyone get you like that Sandi. Thanks for all you do ❤️❤️
I Thank you should call her sapphire
Hi I have just come across your channel as I was was awake again at 2.15am !! here in the UK. Its easy to see what a wonderful person you are, who loves your sheep so much. I'm definitely a fan and ill keep on subsdribing from now on. Take care and stay safe everyone xx Hugs and stuff from across the pond xx (UK)
